Project MAGNA

Vochezer Druck is investing 8 Mio. EUR to create a “One-Stop-Shop for all pharmaceutical packaging products” at the site in Traunreut.

The project MAGNA, which started in 2024, includes 4 successive expansion Stages that will develop our site in Traunreut into a holistic and unique packaging producer for the pharmaceutical industry.

After completing the project in Q3-2026, the following primary and secondary packaging products will be produced at the site in Traunreut in GMP-compliant separate areas:

• Printed aluminum blister foil for tablet blisters

• Mono films for bags und sachets

• Strip films

• Labels on roll

• Leaflets Flat, Pre-folded, Small folded, Outserts, Inserts, Tagserts

• GluePacks, Piggybacks, Combination products

• Folding boxes

• Blister envelopes

• Booklets

• Patient Cards

Stage 1 includes the investment and optimization of our technology for leaflets with a total of 20 production lines and one of the highest capacities for small-folded products in Europe.

In addition, in stage 1, the environmental management standard ISO 14001 was included in our integrated management system and a corresponding certification was achieved. Stage 1 was successfully completed in Q4-2024.

Stage 2 includes the installation of a clean room facility in accordance with ISO Class 8 and the installation of a flexographic printing machine and an inspection system with an integrated 2 x 100% inline-control-system for the production of printed aluminum blister foil for tablet blisters. This machinery is also used to produce mono films, strip films and labels on rolls. Stage 2 will be implemented in Q2-2025, with production starting in July 2025.

Stage 3 involves the expansion of the site with an additional new two-story building with a total of 1,000m² of additional space. Stage 3 will be completed in Q2-2026.

The final Stage 4 includes the installation of the machinery for producing folding boxes, specializing on small to medium order quantities. Stage 4 will be completed in Q3-2026 with start of production.

Each expansion stage is planned, implemented, checked and validated as part of our change control process.
